WE ARE EXCITED TO WELCOME GUEST SPEAKER:
Dorothy Heidbuurt, MACP, FROM mind forward BRAIN INJURY SERVICES
TOPIC: NAVIGATING GRIEF
We all experience loss at different times in our lives, whether it's the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a relationship, a specific ability, or even a sense of identity.
People with ABI often grieve the life they had before their injury, while caregivers may grieve the changes in their loved one's abilities and way of life. When grief is prolonged or left unaddressed, it can deeply affect your health.
We are excited to welcome Dorothy Heidbuurt who will lead us in understanding different types of loss, learning about the grief process and its challenges, exploring strategies for self-care and emotional expression, and discovering ways to find meaning, rebuild hope, and strengthen our support systems. We look forward to learning and sharing together.
WE WILL ALSO WELCOME FELLOW HABI MEMBER WENDY COOK
Wendy will share her personal experience as a parent and caregiver navigating the grief process and will share messages of inspiration and hope.
It is also our official 16th Anniversary celebration!
